Jose Salinas is a Peer Recovery Coach and Trainer at Mindshift Recovery, bringing over a decade of experience in peer support and a deeply personal understanding of the recovery journey.
Jose is a Certified Peer Support Specialist, Certified Peer Recovery Coach, State of Michigan Peer Trainer, and eCPR (Emotional CPR) Trainer with an International Recovery Coach certification. He spent more than six years at the Kent County Community Mental Health Network180/Access Center doing crisis work with individuals facing substance use and mental health challenges.
Jose facilitates trainings in Mental Health First Aid, QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer), Emotional CPR, and mindfulness-based addiction recovery programs. His own path through long-term recovery from heroin addiction, mental health conditions, and homelessness fuels his commitment to supporting others.
When he's not working, Jose can be found on sunrise trail runs with his two Australian Shepherds, Chiquis and Peques, or investing in his community.
